Texas State University Round Rock Campus (RRC) is the official name of Texas State University’s campus in Round Rock, Texas. Located just north of Austin, it is informally referred to as "Texas State–Round Rock." Construction began on the current campus in 2004 and opened its doors for the Fall semester in 2005. The campus hosts upper-level classes for eight bachelor's degrees and courses for eleven master's degrees and seven post bachelor's certificate programs. == History == The Round Rock Campus started in 1996 as the Multi-Institution Teaching Center and then later became the Round Rock Higher Education Center (RRHEC. Housed in temporary buildings at the Westwood High School campus of the Round Rock Independent School District, it was the lead institution in a partnership that included two community colleges, Austin Community College and Temple College at Taylor, two private institutions, Concordia Lutheran College and St. Edward's University, and Texas State Technical College. Construction on a permanent campus, which is the RRC's current location, began in 2004 with the Avery Building. The Avery Building opened its doors on August 24, 2005. In 2008, construction began on the campus' second building. The Nursing Building opened its doors in 2010. The campus currently sits on of property donated to Texas State University by the Avery family.〔
